5,000 LY out and back with Server Issues

3:42PM UTC/GMT time. 10:42AM EST in the USA time where I'm at. The servers keep dropping out. Is everyone online per the Brexit vote in the U.K. Parliament today? I understand.

I'm off to do the 5,000LY out and back run in my second PC account to make Professor Palin happy. I've got a 60 LY jump range on an A-rated Asp Explorer. Going towards the center of the galaxy I should not have any lack of fueling stars. Neutron stars and how to find them if needed are also my friend. No need to take passengers or cabins for what 8 million credits when a cargo Python in the bubble can to that in about 15 minutes.

Nor am I looking to FSS every system as I already made Explorer Elite never going 900LY from the bubble. Go figure that one. So just honk like the old days and move on. The credits are the same as before just not seeing all on the system map unless another player has mapped it.

I've a supply of adult beverages, reading Forum posts on the second monitor and TV noise in the background. Life is good so off we go. Two jumps out of 101 I need one way then...

CONNECTION ERROR
Could not connect to matchmaking server. Press OK to return to the main menu.

Logging back in I get...

Access galaxy map to replot route.

OK. Make another jump and CONNECTION ERROR. Rinse and repeat. Check the server status in the launch window and it says OK. It says that a lot even when there are issues. I guess someone shows up later, says, "Uh Oh" then changes the status while working the problem.

Windows PCs not being shut down for a month can also add their own issues never deleting the files they collect so clear out the browser and temp directory files, scan with Webroot and Boostspeed, then restart the PC. This has fixed ED audio suddenly dropping out in the past.

Back to the game. Server status still OK. Imagine that. 45 minutes later while typing this and all seems to be working just fine. But then I am not in combat or instancing with other players.

The point is the more a player understands the game and becomes somewhat proficient at it the less they will worry about all the bugs and the rebuy screen because they can compensate per the skills that they have acquired. Given Frontier history I don't seeing the Devs to suddenly fix all the problems. With every update we get more bugs to deal with. But we as players can work around them and still enjoy the game. The advantage is that any issue a player has another one has been there and done that. It is the player community making this game great. For many players it has been that way for 35 years. Many of us are still here...

72 more jumps to go one way...

Best Regards

Update:
200 jumps out and back. Typical jump 54-58LY.
1 minute per jump (when I was paying attention).
4 hrs total including checking out a few systems.
No problems fuel scooping only having to find a sun twice.
Arriving at a 4 sun system caused some minor heat damage. I was slow with the heatsink.
Stopped at Quince on the way back. Ship repair 2159. Ship Integrity 43,606. Paintwork 32%.
Cartographics sold in the bubble 12,120,675.

The server had a little 'burp' earlier tonight but seems stable since - maybe there was a 'little' serverside patching going on...

Have a safe trip :)
