I am just proud to announce that CMDR KÜHLER arrived to Sagittarius A* on June 29th, 3301, making the Official Sagittarius A* Galactic Center Visitor Number 500 to endure the 25,900 light years journey!!!

"Staring at the self-destruct button" were his first words upon arrival!!

This is what is wrong with exploration. I had high hopes Exploration would be a thing and also require group support. As it is, basically anyone that wants to slog through jump after jump can traverse the galaxy to the core and even the far-side. This should have been made more difficult. FD should have started the galaxy with fewer populated systems and more immediate plans to allow players to help drive expansion to new systems.

i put this down to money, which FD did not have enough of to get V1.0 in "proper" shape. I hope 4 years hence we may be able to have a galaxy reset or new reality to play in that addresses this. More than one ship per day has reached Sag A to enable 500 persons to do so by now.

I admire the dedication of these commanders. I applaud their trail-blazing. But what in blue-blazes is FD thinking about this?

What has the run to Sag A and back got to do with exploring?

Sorry to say, if you want to be part of some exclusive club you'll need to do some real exploring that the tourists are not doing on their travels.
Go circumnavigate the Galaxy, I hear not many try. That is about as exclusive as you will get in an online game.

And I doubt you'd get much support for any kind of "reset" - best you can do is clear your own save and play solo, just pretend nothing else is going on around you.

To all those long-distance explorers* out there - I salute you.
In my eyes reaching Sag. A is the 4th achievement in E.D. (after becoming elite in 3 disciplines...).

Thanks to Kancro for maintaining the list [hope to be on it at some point!] and the other players who have made guides + useful posts + tools that help us enjoy the game just that little bit more.

*and by explorers I also include racers and sight-seers...

I am planning to attempt to circumnavigate the galaxy. I hope my Auto Field-Maintenance Unit holds out! First I will attempt to make the Sag A* run, then I'll strip the ship down to essentials and sally forth! :)

I've made about 4 trips so far, the most 'distant' one was about 14K LY from Sol, I think ... I don't know what will make me to go there once more - maybe when I am sick to death to please Hudson by delivering his meaningless fortify containers? ... :)
