525 Mil, Suggestions for ways to use it to further other progress?

Hey Everyone, just had my Xbox networth liquidated and transferred over to my PC CMDR, big thanks to you guys on the forums who informed me this was possible. I am currently faced with a "Now what?" scenario. Currently I have a fully (unengineered though) fitted multi-role AspEx, combat Vulture, and Combat Courier. I've owned everything other than the Vette/Cutter before. I intend to keep working on empire rank to unlock the Clipper, and wouldn't mind grinding some fed rank for an FAS, but those are sort of background grinds for now. I played from beta up until a few months before horizons launched and then I took a break, so a lot of new content has been released.

It seems to me 2 primary options would be to work on engineers (which I'm hoping someone can suggest a way to gather what I need for them while multitasking something else), or maybe get a passenger style ship and take a long trip which would both be something new to me. That being said, are passenger missions really worth doing if I am mainly concerned about building ranks/unlocking engineers and less so about credits?

Are there ways I can spend my credits to make some of these grinds more efficient? Currently sort of knocking around Quince between mission board and conflict zones.

Thanks CMDRs, see you in the black.

Passenger transport missions are well worth it for rank, as they usually offer a +++ rep reward. However, sightseeing missions don't offer this as much, and even they did, taking a long trip for one +++ increase wouldn't help your rank much.

From my own experience passenger missions can pay well if you're allied to the faction handing out the missions and your explorer rank is rather high.
I've seen passenger missions reaching distance to the destination * 3 in million credits. With a bit of luck you can get multiple missions to the same destinations.

Carried 3 first class passengers from three different missions to the same nebula roughly 6.5k ly away from sol, each mission paid about 18mil, the exploration data from that trip alone was roughly around 20mil, just honk, scoop jump towards the mission destination.
Was a total of roughly 80mil, not too shabby for a total of 13k ly traveled and 2 days of casually jumping around.

Is there any actual advantage to using one of the luxury transport ships? I mean my AspEx currently has a Class 6 First Class Cabin and 30 ly jump range.... I just also noticed another way to rank up Farseer is to sell your exoploration data at her station so if that isn't like a forever road to getting it done, that may make this even more appealing.

I haven't checked the passenger boards for a few weeks but in my experience passenger missions requiring luxury cabins are so rare as to be practically non existent so there isn't really any compelling reason to buy any of the dedicated passenger ships. That being said, the Dolphin is a decent little ship and the Orca isn't too bad either.

This.
There's currently no reason to buy any of the passenger ships just to have access to those luxury cabins. An Anaconda with a few first class cabins is your best bet to easily chew through multiple tourist missions to the same destination.
Even business class missions pay well and are plenty.

Insanephoton is right about the two littler Saud Kruger ships being decent, but the beluga - more like meh!luga. Which is a shame if it weren't gimped by having so many compartments locked effectively preventing a decent multi role fit with decent shields scoop fighters and passengers it would be a nice thing to spend some time in :-(

Get the Corvette, do it! Ignore the effete Imps!

(As I look over the bow of Corvette, all snobbish and what!)
