The Black Flight mystery

Opening this thread as a continuation from the one started in the "CG prediction" thread about the current mystery.

So, first, I'll state what we know, and where to find it. Spoiler heavy, obviously.

Initially, it started a few years back with the
Hyford crash mystery, which ended with the crash site in Colonia

Today, the signal activated once again for this transmission :

Also give a permit to the next step.

Next is a permit locked system, and the permit is given from the previous scan. System HIP 22460. You have an abandonned megaship there, damaged by Thargoids weaponery. The Overlook.

Finally, the last step (so far) is on the planet 7C in the same system, in a location named "Fort Asch". Note that it doesn't appear on the left hand panel, even after using DSS (which is mandatory I assume to see it). You need to visually scan the planet itself to see it . Like this (Fort Asch).

For the final :
You'll find an outpost with 2crashed ships, and what I assume is some heavy ship scrapping gear (cranes and many wrecks). There is 5data log to extract, and 2data link. One of the data link have a message.

The logs (I didn't bother cropping, one log have a repeated paragraph ingame).

So, what we learned :

-Azimuth still exist, and is still looking for Thargoid stuff, at least until 3307
-Thargoid vessel but with a human pilot trials
-The pilot was apparently submitted to modification (biologicial ?) to, I assume, be able to use said ship. Is said to be a "she".
-Said subject escaped. Current status unknown.
-They had a base called "Oaken Point", where they had this "subject" and where seemingly experimenting/doing stuff to her there.
-The data link suggest a 3rd party stumbled upon the Black Flight bases, and we can assume the logs before we did.
-Pr Dorne mentioned
-The Witch mentioned as giving orders

Some speculations :
-Black Flight/Azimuth may have been responsible for the early Pleiades Thargoids attack. After all, they tried to bait the Thargoids to steal a ship. Might have worked too well.
-Professor Dorne = Engineer Dorne ? The links between the 2 certainly makes sense. The engineer wants occupied escape pod (like Black Flight), he lives in Colonia (where Hyford crash is located), and is an engineer (which was needed to "adapt" the Thargoid vessel.
-The Witch might be related to Witch Head Nebula. The Witch being both an entity and a place (like the Pentagon IRL).
-There is also an Engineer who worked with Palin in the Witch head nebula (Chloe Sedesi), a Thargoid technology expert. Could she be "the Witch" ?

Azimuth Pharmaceuticals did expeditions 200 years ago with the Adamastor and Hesperus, as well as finding an ancient Guardian site, long before Halsey had her visions. Azimuth went defunct not long after that.

However, the final Black Flight log name drops "Azimuth Headquarters". Those logs were only written five years ago, implying Azimuth might still exist. This means that they were doing experiments with Thargoids very recently, and even knew about them before the superpowers did, which implies a possible connection to INRA and/or The Club.

Salvation also has a connection to Azimuth, since he knew about the Adamastor and Hesperus expeditions. Is he connected to Black Flight, too?

And who or where is The Witch?

So many questions!

I think the data link message is Salvation. He learned of Azimuth, and all the stuff in the Fort Asch. He represents a 3rd party there.
Might even have found the escaped "subject" and learned more.

I assume Azimuth is conducting very legit business in its HQ.
Which is why they used Black Flight as a proxy.

You will probably not find anything there^^

I'm on HIP 22460 10b...I 've been to the two Thargoid Mother Murder Flowers sites...there is a Guardian site listed but nothing shows up on the left panel. Any thoughts?

There is also Chloe Sedesi. She is an expert in Thargoid tech, having worked with Pr Palin. She lives in the Witch head nebula.

She might be the "Witch" the log mentioned. I mean, it makes sense, from her involvement to the nickname. Whether it's true or not, I don't know, but it fits.

Some CMDR said it was a bug and there was no guardian site.

Bravo @Erei, awesome summation! I was looking on the forums (new posts) and initially couldn't find anything about what had happened today. Then a search for hyford led me to this goldmine of info. Thanks!
