5€ for a few dots of light? Ok...

The pint of complaining to yourself about the price of your fave drink? Not much.

Of complaining here about the price of some silly ship lights on the official forum? To get Frontiers attention as to why you are dissatisfied with their decision. That's how you get noticed, If you are unhappy with mechanics or pricing isn't it? Just not buying it doesn't tell them much, maybe people didn't like the color, maybe people didn't see it, maybe the description was unclear, maybe it destroys users feng shui to hang lights like that. Who knows! But if lots of people say "its too expensive" and then sales are low a lightbulb goes off.

Seriously watching sales decline without any indication as to why is a challenging thing. You have to spend time money to research why and might never come up with a conclusive answer. Lots of people complaining about a specific thing, be it a lack of a feature, price, or just the color, makes life soo much easier. Basically voting with your wallet works a whole lot better if you let the company know why first.

Something tells me that if sales decline they'll figure it out.

I think they're a little expensive unless they have some extra functionality of customisation like ship kits. Change of colour, how many lights on or off and pulsing perhaps. Nothing amazing, just something other than statically lit and somewhat boring.
They need some options added.
I'll probably end up buying them.

Wouldn't you want to know? I might possible even answer, if that in reality was even a question at all.

Rhetorical as shustas question may be, now you've peaked my interest too... How does online store's feature or price affects your game?

I think it's steep too, hence I won't buy them. I'm still playing ED right this minute, though.

There will be a sale.

I almost never buy the extras unless they are on sale.

Gold is the exception...everything must be GOLD

I agree with op on the price of the lights. I would never buy them for that price.
But I have not been buying any of the cockpit decorations so far.
I like a tidy ship.

Which is totally fair, but ignoring that bit I think it's safe to say this cosmetic in particular took less effort than a BP environmental campaign.

Oh, absolutely. It's just a re-skin of the Christmas lights...which I adored! I saw them and thought, eh, not for me...and moved on.

Also, being a Yank, I'll assume "BP" to mean British Petroleum and that they apparently have exceedingly low budgets as it regards their commitment to ecology.

OP gets a whole boat load of free updates in a gratis 3.0 patch. OP moans that Frontier are greedy for charging for ship lights. Ok...

Not well impressed with OP so far. Unless you count the feeling of being a target of a low blow impressed, well, then yes. Quite impressed. Take it as you will.

Perhaps OP is the greedy one? Ever thought of that OP?!

Pretty sure he would have paid for Horizons so it's not free as such. And that silly store item really is 'money for old rope'.

The lights have been made for every single cockpit in the game. From this perspective the pricing is totally fine.
The fact that I wouldn't pay that much for a lightstring for my space ships is another thing entirely. Some people might like it.
It's called "preference".

I have a problem. Help me, brothers.

sigh, there we go ...

so, ok, let's try this: try to go back to your infancy memories, back to when you were a little child. there's a chance we find there the problem your mind is now trying to deny by buying useless crap.

You don't have to buy it, but that doesn't mean you can't discuss the perceived value of the thing, does it? Jeebus. Who cares if you can afford it or not either? That's not the point...

£4 is a bit steep for me too. I think ship kits are overpriced too, even if I've bought a couple in the past.

Quick, come stomp me for my opinion... woooooof.

I would agree that the prices seem to set a value higher than the enjoyment I typically would get out of them...but then, maybe it isn't priced for someone of my interest level in cosmetics.

Ahahahaa!! The unbelievable GALL! Although honestly can't say for sure which I find more appalling, this or the fact that the new voices are actually not free of charge. Never imagined the voices would cost, too (I know, I was naive, hindsight 20-20)! [haha] That one I will still buy though, at least when I next use the store while drunk.

Also very impressive that the paintjobs are out before the ship is! Does not seem out greedy at all, no Sir!

Glad that FD have managed to keep the online store up-to-date better than the update itself. Spot sarcasm, get cookie.

Not well impressed with today so far. Unless you count the feeling of being a target of a low blow impressed, well, then yes. Quite impressed. Take it as you will.

I have a really bad feeling about all of this, the update and the future of ED.

Lootboxing...................

In space no one can hear you scream.

Don't like the price, don't buy the cosmetics. Seriously, you just got a massive update full of free content, and your first inclination is to cry that there's been paid cosmetic content added as well?
