8 switch foot pedaltgtt

I was thinking, as I use yaw on my stick and pedals for it would be pointless, whether anyone has ever seen a single foot pedal with an 8 way D-pad type switch in the centre of a plate so if you press left/right to fire the left/right thrusters, push with your toes/heel for up/down thrusters with four diagonal positions for combinations to thrust up left, down right etc? I can't find anything close to what I'm trying to explain online.

If anyone knows what the hell I'm talking about and can help source such a device or offer advice if one could be home made I'd appreciate it.

i use some extra mouse buttons for thrust forward and backward toggle, you could probably rig one foot pedal for up/down and another for left/right too

oh i got a nice idea for you.

set forward/backward thrust to one, FSD to another.


wait i totally misread that

8 way foot peddle? i just read peddle and thought you just meant some car-looking ones.

that's pretty next-level, i dont even know if such a thing exists

i think you can get a device that turns random objects into input devices, so you could possibly just get 8 small metal plates and use that with them. only problem is that i forgot what the thing is called that does that.

Usually they are pedals that are 2-3 pedals and maybe daisy chained if you want more. I have a friend that uses a pad, cannot remember what it is though. Then there is Stinky Gaming Footboard Foot Controller, which is basically a D-Pad, shift functions and you could get two, one for each foot which would be a straight 8 button set. Not sure forums rules on linking to places like Amazon, so will leave it to you to dig up a link.

With the recent break to the number of devices the game would take input from during Beta 3.9, I do not know if it has a top boundry on connected devices or not. I am currently using only 3 (stick, throttle, rudder pedals) so I do not know how much you could stack up on this game.

I tried something like this once with heap of old guitar effects units and a USB controller - it was unworkable but hilariously so :)
