8kly per hour and a picnic at sag a +imgs

I recently took an expedition to sag a, I say expedition it was a passenger mission to boost up the bank balance while "exploring"

i saw some rich fella offering 98m credits to get to sag a and back with two companions in first class, I dug out my asp conviently located at my home port and snapped up the mission for an impromptu visit to sag a

The first 7kly where the worst 7kly I have flown in a long time honk n scoop is not my style and I immediately regretted taking on the mission, but as I skipped down 1kly to the neutron fields I felt a lot better, I honed my neutron scooping skills done to less than a minute and a half to the next system and found myself doing nearly 8kly in one hour :O, selecting the next neutron 200ly away had never been so quick and eyeballing distances took seconds in the end!

before I knew it I was 1500ly away and a climb up to sag a, route plotting behaved admirably I was shocked, after manually plotting neutrons I thought I was in for 1500ly of hell but no, a 987ly plot took ... 2 minutes a huge improvement from my last visit

overall I think it took just over 8 hours game time to get there over three days - the last time I were here I only had 30ly range and neutron jumping wasn't a thing

anyway I arrived in open hoping to find some folk.... nada I flew about for half an hour willing on an encounter but nothing, last time I was here it was buzzing with life, now everyone is hiding in pg's and solo. - reminds me when I met a random commander some 40kly out, I don't think this will ever happen again :(

anyway i headed back with haste in time for breakfast utilising the nuetron fields before a painful 7kly back to the bubble

I refilled the afmu about 10 times and repaired the fsd countless times, no bugged connections and nor nuetron damage despite using (lost count) of them

returned with 20mil data plus the 98m in cash not bad for a weeks graft ay?

The asp looks knackered after the journey, I'd love to post pics but I'm pc less

i wouldn't do passengers in a hurry again mind I hate scoop and honk but glad I did it

8 kLY per hour is really lot, I was doing something like 4,5 kLY in Anaconda with range of 47 LY. Seems that improved maneouvreability of the AspX comes in handy when dealing with neutrons.

I have a video I filmed for the sub 1.5min jump I'll post shortly but means you can do 40plus jumps an hour so 8kly with a 50plus drive

8 hours to get there though is not 8kly/hr more like 3.5kly/hr.

Travelling is a lot faster these days.

I didn't time it all I know is I played for roughly just over 2 hours each evening, only thing I timed was my neutron jumping, and one evening in two hours I did just over 16kly all in the nuetron fields - besides it's not exactly 26kly to get there when going down 1.4kly then back up, so simply dividing 26 by 8 wont give you the correct answer and my buckyball speeds are nothing compared to others so the areas I flew outside the neutron field were very slow indeed - with many breaks for tea and other distractions
