Krait Mk.II didn't come with Unique Modules or Missions or whatever other "Panther needs" demands

Also the Courier was twice the size of an Asp Explorer, yes things change but ships still all function the same.

Same for the Krait (but since people actually like the new one nobody mentions it anymore).

If (and that is one seriously overstressed if) any ship ever gets put in the game with the name “Panther Clipper”, it will be so far removed from its original self that old-timers will hate it and everyone else will question what we’re even supposed to do with it.

It is certainly amusing to watch the blind optimism fly around here, at least. There’s bound to be some sad faces a few years from now.

I don't mind what it's called or what it looks like, but I have a desire to be able to carry a lot more than 794t of cargo from one large dock to another large dock to repair stations. I don't really have an opinion on any other stats as long as the laden jump range is more than say 15ly but I'd like to be able to carry say 2,000t shielded - I'm thinking of something like a massive T-9 in terms of defence & offence, handling & speed would do.

I like 'em big ;)

That is just because of the overhype, which I think is also the reason why we don't have it yet.

Yep, me too. Although 2000t is probably too high. I'll be happy if it's somewhere between 1200 and 1500t.

Elite: Dangerous optimism turns into straight up insanity when discussing the Panther. People can't help themselves.

  • It should carry double the amount of cargo as the biggest ship
  • While still able to jump like a medium size ship
  • But be so big it requires new ways to dock at a station
  • And have gameplay invented specifically for it
