Oh boy, i'd love to dock my ship on a pad with a view of the other 8,999 pads, seeing players from around the world generate bad traffic but an amazing sight. It isn't impossible, on PlanetSide 2 there have been 200+ players in one single region without any serious issues

Um, they didn't mean 9000 pads, but 9000 different planetary bases have shipyards.
I didn't think it will get sorted out after I asked Sandro that question and filed a bug report later, because a storm of AI threads has flooded the bug forum and other forums, so I am very pleasantly surprised that they corrected it and gave us planetary shipyards in the last patch so now we can have homes on planets.
