980 ti will displayport to hmdi work for Oculus Rift - arrives Monday

I have a 980ti with 1 HDMI, 2 Dvi-i, and 3 displayports

I have Monitor on dvi-i to HDMI so PC boots to monitor. dvi-i apparently has priority.

I have TV on HDMI out.

I plan on using a displayport to HDMI for Oculus Rift. Or I could swap the HDMI to TV to the Oculus Rift and use the displayport to HDMI for TV.

Does that sound right?

Suggestions and corrections are appreciated!

Use the displayport to HDMI adapter for the TV and plug the Rift into the HDMI slot. While displayport to HDMI could potentially work just fine for using the Rift, there's a chance it could be leading to all sorts of smaller problems which is why Oculus highly recommends to not use any sort of display adapter when plugging in the Rift.
