yes, it is. I liked the bug carrier.

also I would like to add 'Meh'.

It's typical soldiers following a shouting sergeant, you had just as well watch GI-Joe.

i enjoyed the book the films and the Animated series,i just wish the first film had the twist from the book in it :) <dont want to spoil it if anyone hasnt read it, but read it,you wont be disappointed>

Now you have me curious enough to read the original novel. Something I've never done before.

I enjoyed the first film.

Because I never read the book and was never upset about any of the differences. Although I had read about them somewhere later. About the character Dizzy Florez being two characters combined from the original story, (I think that's right) and them not wearing the power-armour suits. I didn't like the second film Hero of the Federation.

Because I didn't like the idea of the parasitic bugs turning the soldiers into zombies, but after a couple of multiple viewings. (This particular instalment gets replayed on the Sci-Fi channel every few months.) It grew on me. I always thought needing where the former convict sacrifices himself so the female soldier could deliver the information vital to the survival of the Federation.

I didn't like Marauder at all.

I didn't like idea of the Sky-Marshal being psychic communication with some master Brain-Bug.
Although the final introduction of Marauders, a special Elite squad of soldiers wearing the famous power-armoured-suits come to rescue at the end.

When I got a chance to watch Invasion.

I fell asleep while watching this. So, I can only guess it was better than the others movies.

Ah! I see the first bolded link is actually 2 links instead of one. Was wondering why it kept going to a wiki page only

Sorry, about that, I was just trying to be tricky :D but I didn't mean to mislead everybody. I have since split the link into two separate sentences. I see you have provided you own

I like the book, been some time since i read it though.

I like the first movie as well, it has a nice dark humor to it, and some of the CGI in it is still top notch today, and mind u this movie is 17 years old!
But naming it "starship troopers" and rearranging/adapting the script to suit it really wasnt needed.

All of the sequels, including the animated series, is just…..so very very bad.

Though it was terrible at first....

I kind of got used to the sequel and even like the needing when they spin all that propaganda or whatever it's called....

"FedNet: Dax. More than a soldier. Not just a man. A hero of the Federation. He gave his life so we can fight, and these words for us to live by, "Shed no tears for me. My glory lives forever... And now, you too can live the glory, because it's easy to be a hero in the Mobile Infantry. Men and women like you are signing up every day to serve the Federation and save the galaxy. Isn't it time you did your part?

The last scene where he's takes out the corrupt general and knock off the top of the outpost tower before he is swamped by arachids all around him ....is one of my favourites.
