A Beagle Point question

Hi All,

In honour of my new and rather spectacular avatar, I thought I would ask a question that has been bothering me over the last 103,000 LY.

My ship, gloriously though perhaps ill advisedly names The James Caird, has a jump range of 32.9LY or 35.1 on fumes. Is it actually possible to get to Beagle Point and safely back again without jumponium?

I have seen many threads discussing routes to and fro, some of which suggest it can be done but these always seem to shove a little sentence in there somewhere that has a number like 39.1 or 38.2 lurking ominously behind a smiley or something.

Venadium and I do not have a happy relationship. I could do a million and a half basic boosts if I had more than a single, solitary lump (sachet, bag, crate, bottle, bath tub full, whatever) of Venadium and as I close inexorably in on CEECKIA ZQ-L C24-0 it's getting to the point I have to make a decision. On to the fame, glory and enormous expense account of being the fifteen thousandth person to have made the trip or retreat and continue on my strange planned route.

If anybody could help here I would be very grateful and may even re-name the duck from Frank Worsley to whomever was kind enough to assist.

My Anaconda has a jump range of 30.09 on a full tank and by jumping with it 1/2 full I made the bigger jumps using the boost option.

Thanks very much for the reply but just for clarity, "the boost option"? Was that a jumponium boost or did you manage the trip by just having the fuel tank less than half full?

I was never sure what "jumponium" was so what I mean is with the fuel tank 1/2 full, I plot my single jump by using the FSD BOOST option in the nav section and move the boost slider at the bottom to either one or two notches to the right until I get a sold jump line on the map. I never had to use the 3rd notch. If this is what they mean by jumponium then that is what I did then.

It's supposedly possible, but certainly not the way I came at it. I have a 31Ly Asp and needed to use a few 25% boosts and one 50% to get there.

You can make it even without jumponium. The main Distant World thread has two routes to BP. Here is a LINK to a google sheet with some options. There are also Distant World threads that specifically highlight planets that have vanadium if you choose to do some more scavenging as you get closer.

Short answer - YES.

For the longer jumps on the final run to Beagle, do not scoop fuel before the jump for one or two jumps before. The longest jump on the run-in is 33.4 LY.

I have your exact range (32,9 LY) . Made it to BP without using any Jumponium, even though I had gathered it, mainly for the Abyss and the last stretch of the trip. So, yes, it's absolutely possible. Just keep your tank half full during the last 300 ly and you're golden. :)

Thanks for all the help everyone!

It's very re-assuring. I am not approaching across the abyss but will leave via it. Today I did a bit of a scout over a couple of planets and managed to get all the ingredients together for one max jump but still no more Vanadium :) Thanks especially to domaq for the link. Duck is duly re-named!
