Well I decided that it was time for a little 'test' exploration a few nights ago so off I went into the wild black yonder. I decided to go up for this first little adventure, I knew it wasn't going to amount to much with only a basic scanner on-board but what the heck, think of the fun!
So a few hours later there I am 480LY from my starting point at the end of the first evening, time for bed. Last night I decided to scan everything in the system, even found some new planets that had not been discovered before, oh how happy I was.
Having read on the forums yesterday about a nice big fat mining area in my home system I decided that after the scanning I would head home, this was only a test after all and I was happy with the result.
So off we go once again into the dark. After a while the systems with real names started to appear and sure enough on the system map I could see outposts, no stations yet but this is the edge of the bubble so to speak.
The though about landing to protect my investment did cross my mind but... At this point I could say any one of a number of things to get me off the hook: The wife talked, the wife wanted an early night
, the cat jumped on the keyboard, aliens invaded or even that WW3 had broken out. Each of these would be a lie.
I pulled up the Gal map and saw that i only had a few jumps left to go so forge ahead, why not! What's the worst that could happen? Well I could get jumped? Pah, I have faced a Conda in my mighty Cobra and won... My brain decided to forget that I had a lot of help from the local Navy in that one!
So when the interdiction finally came I was all pumped up and figured getting some ones bounty would be the perfect end to the trip, throttle to zero, lets rock!
1 Minute later I'm wondering if I can do a runner to a station/platform before the air runs out but that was a moot point as seconds later I was dead.
Now I have a debt with the bankers due to low funds and I have learnt that no matter who you are, the universe is out to get you... well me at least!
