I have purposefully stayed away from your blog posts and been jamming my fingers in my ears when you talked about it on Lave Radio because I didn't want to know a thing about your story until I read it proper. I honestly don't have a clue what it's about but I have faith it will be a cracking read! I will catch up on on that though once I do eventually finish reading it.

No major characters in the Prologue and it only sets the tone - you'll learn nothing about the actual story from it... You're perfectly safe!

Congrats, looking forward to getting text and audible versions. I always like to see if the text version plays out the same way image wise in my head as the audible version. Can't wait for all these books, seems like they are all going to be rollercoaster rides.
Drew, you know if yours and the other books are going to be released at the same time or are they going to be staggered releases? Also, you know if DF are planning to release these books before game release? I'm sure I heard something about this on one of the Lave radio show interviews, just can't remember.

Each writer is independent. I know that Kate Russell is hoping to launch her book at year end, but I think most of the rest of us are aiming for march 2014 to sync up with the game. Gollanzc have three novels in the works too, but there's no detail on this as far as I'm aware.
In my case, I don't want to release the story until I'm sure it aligns closely with the 'experience' of playing the game (so post alpha at the very earliest). I want to ensure you read the book and go 'yeah, that's how the game feels.' So I'm expecting a bit of editing during the alpha/beta stages of the game. ( Got to build myself a PC to run it on too!)

I have to admit to not having had any interest in the fiction until now. I have always been of the opinion that "playing the game" was the thing. But I must say I am quite keen on the idea of fleshing out my understanding of the Elite galaxy with some well written fiction. I think I have the forum to thank for that.
