Horizons A bit tired of...

I have grown just a bit tired of being interdicted, having my cargo demanded to be turned over, killing the offender and then getting a bounty on my head. One thing if you deserve it, another to get it for defending yourself. What are we to do, stop shooting when they have only 5% hull left?

I really am tired of the "we have an opportunity we would like to take advantage of" when carrying mission cargo and then you get re-directed to who knows where, and one can only guess if it will be some 200,000 ls from jump in. We contracted to take cargo "A" to place "B" for price "C". I pick whether I want to carry the cargo offered, go to the place it is wanted and the price offered. So the AI just changes that at a whim and you don't have the chance to say, "naaa I don't think so, it's going where we contracted to go." Sometimes I just want to kick the crap out the airlock and have done with it, but that involves it's own level of hassel as well. We really REALLY need a "no, change not accepted" button.

And on a lighter note, I am really tired of "Agarla Gold Mob". They want you to do missions for them and then their creepy members try and loot you all over the system and adjacent stars. Finally tired of that and have been playing pop goes the weasel with them at the local nav with my "A" rated Python. They really hate me now. Seems I can't do any missions for them either. Oh well, they pay well when collecting bounty's on them. Seems they all have a wanted poster on them.

When they are not wanted, wait for them to shoot you and you should be able to kill them because they became wanted. On the rest of the post, I can't comment. Why did you buy this game, only to complain that it isn't what you want to play? I don't get that attitude,. this forum is full of people like you. Try to see it as a challenge.. Elite has always been a challenging game, and that's not going to change.

No, I love the game. Play it too much in fact. Just need the button. And to not have a bounty placed on my head for doing nothing wrong. Being interdicted? I look forward to it. Love carving hulls up like a roast with my 2 engineered multi-cannons. Rather satisfying. As to the Gold Mob, I am rather enjoying myself making there life in the system difficult. Only other complaint is I am still leaving yellow paint on the mail slot with the Anaconda. Haven't quite gotten the knack of getting out cleanly every time.

Long standing issue. IDK how things are done across the Atlantic, but where I'm at holding someone up even if you don't shoot them, is illegal.

I don't think he's complaining about the game, per se (whatever that means) but to be in trouble when you defend yourself is not how the game should be played.

I always check my attacker and if equal I fight. Only once did I get a fine for defending myself. Didn't matter anyway. Got 22,00 cr for doing it.

There are two times you can shoot them without problems:

1) They interdict you, you lose, and drop out of SC. They're fair game for death. What actually happened here is your ship (usually) gets damaged dropping out of SC, which counts as them assaulting you.

2) You drop out of SC on your own and wait, or submit. You must wait for them to attack you before returning fire.

This happened to me a lot when I got my first anaconda. The way to do it is line up the red circle at the back of the station with the mail slot then when you're lined up and ready go for the 'haircut' approach where it feels like you're going to knock your head off the top of the mail slot. The anaconda always gets through that way without a scratch. If you try for the conventional smaller ship approach you'll always scrape that bulbous belly.
