Elite / Frontier A blast from the past - The Mad Hatter's adventure gaming column - featuring Elite!

Pete Redrup, son of Bob Redrup who wrote an adventure gaming column called The Mad Hatter for The Micro User, a computer magazine dedicated to the BBC Micro, have posted scans of his late fathers columns, many dealing with the original Elite.

Pete talk mentions his fathers passion for Elite - "He died in 2000, but were he still alive, he would have been very excited about the release of Elite: Dangerous. With interest in Elite being so widespread at the moment, now seems like a great time to start posting his writings."

Am so glad you posted this, I was thinking about him last night, and was wondering if he was out there somewhere. I remember a long debate about "the mystery ship" in his column. Sad to hear he's passed away,, I've no doubt he'd have been just as fired up now as he was back then.

Brought back memories. Thanks for the link - I do feel lucky to have experienced the time from the '70s through to now. Columns like that really helped fire my enthusiasm for home computing in it's early days.
