A Blue Cobra error cause me to lose my ship, can't even rebuy it at redeploy screen

this is how it happened...
I was driving my SRV in a settlement fighting some NPCs, and when my SRV was nearly destroyed by NPCs, and suddenly the game disconnected (error code: Blue Cobra) and then it froze at the loading screen, couldn't even make it to the main menu, so I had to force quit the game. And when i restart the game and I found myself had to start at the redeploy screen, but it won't let me choose my ship to redeploy, the option is not there (well technically I didn't destroy it, but still my ship should be there in the redeploy screen and "should" require $0 to rebuy if it wasn't destroyed), I can only choose the sidewinder only...and I have checked the shipyard afterwards and my ship just disappeared like that.
(FYI choose to redeploy with Sidewinder will permanently lose your old ship and modules)

Anyone else experiences this problem too?

I was gonna try to come back into ED one day but I think with this error report I could hold out for another year or two.

Try logging in to Horizons, and see if you can get that ship transferred to you. Once it's safely at your location or you're onboard, log back into Odyssey.

that chance was not mine anymore since I had already chosen to redeploy with the sidewinder :( But guess if you guys run into the same problem again you can try out this method

Did you actually lost the ship?
Since you didn't lost your ship and you died far from it, it will not be in the rebuy screen
If you die on foot and get send to a detention center, your ship will not be with you, but you should be able to take an apex shuttle to any station, then use the whatever interstellar services to recall your ship.

Sure, it's quite weird, but i guess this mechanic will be sorted out - i mean, if you died on foot and get sent back to some station (including a detention center), your ship should also be with you
(Unless this opens up a potential exploit that i'm not aware off at this time...)

my experience is, when I die on foot, I will be led to redeploy screen, and I will find my non-destroyed ship in the "Vessel" column in the redeploy screen, but since my ship wasn't destroyed, it won't cause me any $$ (which should be $0). And I will be redeployed in the closest station/ detention center/ last station I visited.

But in my case, I didn't die on foot (well, my SRV still had 8% hull when I disconnected, so technically I think I was not dead:unsure:), it also involves the "Blue Cobra" disconnection error code.

And, YES, I triple-checked the shipyard right after the redeployment and my ship disappeared, in both Odyssey and Horizon mode, and vanilla ED mode.

Its probably still in orbit around where you were dropped off. Might be able to get it back if you land at a local settlement.

Your ship may still exist, you just can't access it. Try logging into Horizons and see if it's there. No promises but it only takes a minute or two to find out.

I bought a cheap Courier for bouncing around during this dodgy phase.
Not taking any of the big ships out of the hangar, not even for a screenie.

I died while on foot at an outpost. As I recall the rebuy screen only showed my suit, no ship. After the rebuy I was at a detention center a couple hops away. I took a shuttle back to a station in the system I died in. Looking at the system map showed my ship on the planet I died on. I took shuttles to every outpost on the surface including the one I died on but could not recall my ship. I launched the game in the old non-Horizon and Non-Odyssey mode. My ship was available at the station in the system and I could have it transferred to my location no problem.

Strange bug that one.

what do you mean by launched the game in NON-Horizon and NON-Odyssey mode ? I thought Horizon mode is already the basic ED after Odyssey is out.

But in my case, I didn't die but disconnected (error code: Blue Cobra). I don't think it's the same story

I launched the vanilla Elite Dangerous mode. If you go to the system map and see a ship icon on the planet you were on give it a try. Like you said though, yours may be a different scenario. I just though it would be worth mentioning.
