A Bug that led to more fun

So, after playing for several hours and finally doing enough trades to get the cobra mark 3 I decided the time for battle was upon me. I had a few trade missions left to complete so finished them off and loaded up on titanium in the Dahan system. I had got myself class 4 laser and class 2 cannons, so I felt geared up and ready to go.

The time came to exit the station and I was exiting nice and steady, with no other ships nearby when disaster struck, the ship started flashing from one location to another without my actions, I was just exiting when next thing I know I was teleported into a wall and my ship blew up! I was gutted to say the least but to add insult to injury I was 100 credits short of the insurance cost so back to a sidewinder for me!

Feeling a bit annoyed was an understatement but I kept my cool and composed a bug report for this and then decided to start again. This time I had nothing to loose so decided to head to Eranin conflict zone and try my hand at a bit of warfare and can say I'm now glad my cobra was blown up! I'm having so much fun dogfighting in the high intensity conflict zone, and I have managed to destroy a few of the cobra mark 3 ships proving that the sidewinder is a small but still more than capable craft! I think I was missing a bit park of the game by not doing combat missions but thankfully I've got over that and am now enjoying it even more than before!

Yeah, Dahan can be a little nasty sometimes with its jerking about...

I find the combat incredibly fun in game, too! Flying my Viper into that combat zone has given me a decent haul of credits in the past. :)

I'm sorry to hear about your bug related loss, and please you are taking it with the good humor that is needed when dealing with Beta testing losses.

Saying that, it baffles me that anyone goes to Dahan.

That station must have a higher kill count than any of us players. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Dahan Gateway has achieved Elite Status! in one of the future newsletters.

Pilots speak in hushed whispers of Dahan Gateway, the now long derelict station hulk orbiting Hathor in the Dahan system. Old miners still gather on late nights, their children clustered close to the glow lamps and tell of the thousands of remnants of deceased vessels that drift around it's decaying maw...

It was cursed, they say...perhaps some electromagnetic anomaly generated by Hathor's rings...perhaps something...else. Explorers who venture too close to it's now eccentric orbit report strange static howls emanating from it's locale. Ship's systems flicker and dance yet no trace of fault can be diagnosed, thrusters will fire unexpectedly, lurching vessels at improbable angles and all the time the Gateway looms... it's once pristine entry now broken, pitted with micro-meteor strikes, girders and flotsam clogging the path to within, like so many rotted teeth in a long dead skull....

"Old shaky". I lost a cobra early on. Since then I learned to fight for a week in a sidewinder and made my money from gold in the anarchy systems. Grabbed a Lakon 6 on Saturday and worked up to half a mil credits and now I'm back in a fully kitted cobra much wiser and less green.

That's brilliant!

Super awesome, this needs to be a thing for release, turn real history into game lore!
