A buy back option for accidently selling a ship

Hello,

So earlier today, I wanted to try out conflict zones, but didn't want to risk my imperial clipper, so I bought and upgraded a viper to go in.
When I came back, I went to get my clipper back, and was used to the interface of buying a new ship and selling the old. Misreading the words, in part do to having the Rift on, I accidentally sold my imperial clipper at a pretty substantial loss. That was pretty frustrating and kind of made me want to put the game down.

My suggestion would be to either give us 30 seconds to buy back our ship if we accidentally sell it, or at least change the wording to include the name of the ship you are selling (instead of calling it your "old ship").

Not done this myself, but a friend of mine has... Maybe just a clearer message, with an extra confirmation if you are selling your current ship ("Are you really really really sure etc....")? Rather than putting in more complex solutions?

aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - I can't believe it - this is way to easy to do (when not paying attention)....

You can buy things back from the Outfitting section - why can't you buy your ship back??

I appreciate its my fault - was buying a sidewinder as a marker on the map - but, come on, it seems a little unforgiving...

Archie.

Given the clear confirmation screen before committing it actually works quite well. One just has to slow down and always take the time to carefully select an option in the shipyard. Same with selecting the old loadout on the insurance page. This isn't stacking missions as fast as possible.

With all the Forum posts this has also happened a lot with Occulus Rift users and I'd just take the darn things off when important decisions need to be made.

Still I wonder why they didn't incorporate a buy back as works in the outfitting section...which is cool by the way when you buy a new ship, the station doesn't have an Advanced Discovery Scanner, so you just buy back the one you sold before selling the old ship. Nice.

I've done this myself and blame myself for not reading properly. You can't really blame the game but I understand the pain it causes.

BTW you lose 10% of the value when you sell like this. Not a lot in comparison but enough to make a grown man wince.

Every time I switch ships I tell myself: CAREFUL! IT'S THE OTHER BUTTON!

It is not difficult, but humans are drawn to mistakes, especially if routine sets in and stuff like this always catches you off guard. Sooner or later it can happen to anybody. So in this respect it's a design flaw. Switching ship and selling should be like two entirely different menus.

I don't think we need buyback for ships. I think there should just be a press and hold confirmation for more high stake and irreversible actions, such as leaving a power or selling a ship.

I agree that switch ship and sell ship are way too similar and easy to mix up.

Yep, been there, did this with 390m credits worth of Cutter the other day, but I went to the frontier support site and logged a ticket - the kind folks at frontier refunded my 39m credits.

you need to know the time you sold the ship though.

It is my understanding that you can ask to have you account reset--just send an email and don't run the game until it is taken care of. No idea how long it takes to get cleared up of course.
