A call for help

"I am currently looking for some materials and while doing so I also like to have some fun - so to combine these two activities I want to do missions and get needed materials as a reward."

From your statement my take is that your priority is material gathering. Relying on material rewards is going to be a slow, tortuous process. And after all that, you are unlikely to get everything you are looking for.

I if you want to have fun as well, just attack settlements.

Steve.

I didn't meant that material gathering is a top priority (and if I wrote it like that then sorry to have mislead you), English is not my native language.
The only priority right now I have is to have fun. With working missions (as I wrote in the later post).

Probably the only odyssey mission not bugged is the fetch/deliver an item from/to an NPC. I believe that you can encounter bugs in the rest of them on occasion.

Given the amount of salvage or larceny missions I do, if one is bugged I just get on with it, using the only tool readily available - relogging. As I said earlier, perfection is the enemy of good enough.

If you are wanting fun, then most missions will not provide it. Either have fun (combat of some kind) or the bug free mission (fetch/deliver)

TBH, if I want a break from missions but still want to play around in inhabited space I go around murdering and pillaging settlements (Got to say lawful settlements are best for this because it's more interesting when you get a hostile reputation). I'm fetching goods, assassinating targets, stealing data and power regulators all at once!

Then I do my bit for the community by selling the ill gotten gains on my carrier.

These days I do missions for the BGS, but always pick up stuff as I go along. Someone may find it useful.

And here I was hoping that at least some mission types can be completed without bugs. I don't think I am asking for perfection, just a few mission types without problems would be nice.
Sadly, this seems to be the trademark of ED - bugs that are never fixed. Oh, and the total silence from the devs/CMs, that never seems to change either.

And every time I try to do something different (so my gameplay would not go stale) I encounter bugs and then people advising me to do something else instead :) And I am slowly running out of things that both work and are fun for me.

Oh well, if there aren't any missions without problems to be had then I will either have to risk it (and potentially leave with a bad feeling) or keep doing the same thing that I found least issues with over and over and over again.

But thank you for trying to help, I do appreciate it.

To reiterate this point, from my experience most things are fixed with a relog. Aside from settlements not having the right state to do the mission (which I have to say is rare) I've generally had little problem completing missions, even if it's taken 2-3 relogs to do it.

I'm not saying that's a solution. It's a workaround to some fairly significant issues that still lie within the game. Whether we'll see fixes in this area is another matter, I'm just saying it is possible to get some satisfaction from completing these if you're willing to break a bit of immersion to do it.

It's sad when someone wants to play this game and you have to disappoint them.
But it's true, the many errors are frustrating.
Sometimes it is hardly possible without the brute force method or with target mechanics, which are not intended (relogg).
The developer probably just gave up on fixing things at some point?
I was often frustrated when I completed a difficult mission and then didn't get a reward.
In the long run, that kind of thing ruins the game.

I never had any problems with delivery missions from terminals where you have to take items to a person in the settlement.
Currently I am doing lots of "legal" settlement massacre missions, and while I had many fails with the "last person missing" bug in previous versions, I had zero problems with this after 14.1 . This later type of mission is perfect for two things: building up combat rank and gathering tons of materials. However, you need to have some skills to do them routinely, because they tend to generate the "tipped off" narrative, where you have the settlement at alarm on arrival, sometimes even guarded by ships, and always spawning a bounty hunter coming after you if the job was done. It is different enough to keep the boredom away, but still relatively easy to handle.
