Heya guys,
Well I had a right old fail infused night last night, so I just wanted to share my story
So having got my type six I searched and searched for cargo space upgrades. Finally I found them and so decided to strip all systems out for maximum cargo space, including my shields.. this seemed like a risky but worthwhile move at the time.
For two days I've been bimbling back and forth between my two chosen haulage stations and doing ok thankyou very much
Last night I logged on and saw I was half way to my ASP having accrued 3 million, 'we're getting there I though'. First run I pick up my missions, pack the rest of the ship with haulage cargo and head for the other station. Those who have been to Reis station will know it's got two gigantic arms protruding out of the sides, these are on the sides so move with the rotation of the station (very cool). So as usual I'm choosing the wrong side of the station to dock so start making my way to the other side and.. went a little bit too far out. One of the arms silently smacked me one and with no shields it was good night Siena. Feeling really stupid I was also determined I would now spend the next few hours making up for my loss.
Three runs later we were almost back to where I'd started.. and then it all went wrong. As I was landing at Reis I accidentally hit launch, bah ok back out, re- request and back in and then it happened. As I was moving though the station to my landing pad I noticed a good friend of mine parked right below me, thoughts of hey I can see someone I actually know we're quickly replaced with 'hey look he's lifting off.. hey look he's not seen me because I'm right above him.. I think he felt a little bump as my un shielded type 6 became a small mark on the hull of his shielded type 9
So there you go ladies and gents, a cautionary tale for all you new commanders out there and an expensive lesson for me. Needless to say them four cargo spaces I'd gained with no shields will now be occupied by a working shield generator. It might sound daft but it is worth it to make these mistakes yourself sometimes and adds a chapter to your story.
Best regards,
Genophix
