So after a week and a bit hanging around Lugh then back to Eranin, I decided to relocate to the fringes of Empire space where, it is said, a Gentleman of Enterprise might turn a bit of profit.
I chose a destination, around 200LY from my current position, and despaired at the short jump-range of my trusty Viper, Bessie. But no worries, I'll just equip this very handy fuel scoop and top up every 3-4 jumps. It would be a slow trip, but I was looking forward to new horizons, new friends, new opportunities etc.
But then my lack of proper foresight and planning struck! (Again).
With a fuel tank containing a mere dribble, I arrived in an unpopulated system with a red dwarf star (or similar). There was no fuel for the scooping. But, no fear, there were two other uninhabited systems I could still reach...
The second was no different from the first. That's okay, there's still the last one...
...and I arrived running on naught but fumes to find that this system fared no better.
I took one last look at that dead star mocking my efforts before hitting the self destruct.
