Hello Commanders,
We already have many threads of people whining about open play. How it is so empty and shallow. Posts upon posts of people complaining about griefers who destroyed them with no reason. How GrindPlay favourites briefing behaviour and makes players lock themselves away in solo or group play. We whined whined and whined to FDev, but what if we actually take action and try to change things?
I know many Commanders may be lazy and wait for mommy frontier to help them, but they have some other things on their minds right now, and I think it'll take some time for them to do something, if anything at all.
I am curious to see if this gaming community will actually act as one and do something. It happened before, I don't think we couldn't do it again.
Since naming and shaming is forbidden on this forums, the intent of assembling a Blacklist of all the players who destroy others with no reason is rather difficult to accomplish. But what if we get something here on the forum, maybe even on this thread, that can tell act as information to avoid said griefers for people who still want to enjoy everything Open play has to offer? I had an Idea in mind.
What if each CMDR who is destroyed without reason or sees other players briefing on newbies or even 'conda/ "end game" players (it can happen to them too!) reported on a thread where he was killed and from who, without naming. As an example:
"I was destroyed by a griefer in Kremainn piloting a Viper."
"A FdL is destroying other players at Cleve Hub"
"Pirate opened fire on me for no reason in Eravate"
And so on. Someone could make a Blacklist of the places where griefing/excessive pirating is really strong, so people who wants to be relatively safe can avoid those systems while any bounty hunter could use this real time info to where to find some pvp and give those trigger happy Cmdrs a reason to shoot.
It could work like this:
ERAVATE
High risk system.
2 Griefer Anacondas reported destroying newbies.
5 Cobra pirates destroying traders without warnings (wings of 2/3 reported Interdicting in this system)
Kremainn
Low Risk system.
2 Vultures spotted suspiciously killing players with no apparent reason.
1 Viper is killing players randomly at a RES.
3 bounty hunters CMDR in systems "patrolling"
Now, you could think "but in every system there's a top 5 bounties thing" Well, here its a comparison between that and this kind of Blacklist.
They count only five people, instead this could virtually count limitless.
It's not in real time, but posting here after being griefed is.
That is only system relative vs galaxy feed.
And last but not least, what if people would start trolling and reporting destruction that did happen?
1) I don't know what they could archieve by doing that, considering that all BHunters could simply confirm/deny their posts.
2) if this community is so immature that it can't or doesn't even want to make something to make Open play a little more livable for newbies untill FDev does something whatever. I tried making my part. I guess we can simply lock ourselves in solo play.
Thanks for the attention and the time given to read this post.
CMDR Shane.
