1) You should not be actually wanted and attackable for a "bounty" below 5k (or make it relative to the ship cost). Having an authority ship boost its way into your firing lane and only hitting the shield with one bullet does not warrant another guy popping up behind you being allowed to "bounty hunt" you for a 200 cr. fee. Also I think, that a little further tweaking should be put in place: Players cannot pay off the bounty themself. That way you slowly accumulate bounty and you become a jucier and jucier target until someone will actually kill you. However currently there is a system in place that makes sure, that you are interdicted more often because of your wanted status by the police. Maybe cut down on that, because players obviously cannot escape the wanted situation any longer at will, which might be against their playstyle and therefor impending them.
2) You shouldn't get a bounty regardless of the damage you have caused. The system should be a bit more tolerant. As it stands the system is only there for griefing purposes like trying to boost through someone elses firing angle. The radar is such a mess, that you will not see it coming. There you are now forced to clear your bounty...
3) There is simply no point attacking other players, which translates directly into no interaction between players. For example we sit at a res excavation site and well you see 4-10 people farming there. You annoy each other stealing a kill here and there, but I have yet to feel compelled enough to engage in PvP. If I open fire on other players farming RES sites I stand absolutely nothing to gain. There simply is no risk vs reward there is only short term fun vs having to dock, clear the bounty and being interdicted 10 times on the way to the station by the police and often have to exit and rejoin because the interdiction glitches or being interdicted and being alone.
- A quick solution would be to transfer the bounty vouchers from the opponent to yourself on delivering the killing strike. This might not be optimal and need further tweaking, but at least for the time being I would be hesistant to killsteal and at the same time I would have a damn good reason to attack a non-trading ship. At the very least this brings real danger to the res excavation sites, which I thought this game is all about. The only fear I felt in this game so far after like I think 40 hours is if I can make the sharp turn into the docking station or not
I will add more points once I have more time on my hands.
