I´m a big fan of ED and I consider it to be the best space game out there. I love all its mechanics, even the mega-grind part, and the way it makes me feel like I am in a 1:1 scale galaxy that I am able to navigate, it just feels so real. My point is, as a ships game, its almost perfect for me, so I think devs should try to give the on-foot fps part the same treatment as they possible can. That said, my idea is to develop the interior of an orbis station habitat ring. Sure the thing is huge, but I´m thinking more of a certain sector of it, kinda the size of a small battlefield 4 map maybe, with limits to it in the form of closed border-like doors or even some barricades if the particular station happens to be in a turmoil state. It will serve to the superior purpose of making the galaxy more inmersive and the player´s experience even more realistic than it is now, by allowing us to witness first hand and on foot how humans actually live their lives in the year 3307. An opportunity to further build this world (galaxy) in a more deep way, creating a habitat filled with different classes of npcs doing their jobs, maybe a police officer, maybe a doctor, a believable amount of pedestrians, etc. Think of it like a little Cyberpunk in ED. In one of the stations you have to help the local forces to face a terrorist attack in a civil area, in another one your missions is to find the faction´s contact in the town´s tavern, or in some dark alley with burglars and pirates stalking and... you get the point. More fps action. More world-building. More role-play. And, of course, the stunning view of the interior of a habitat ring, with artificial sun-llike illumination and colossals spaceships wandering above, something I assume that the powerful graphics of this game should be able to handle. It would be a dream come true for all sci-fi fans out there, and for myself of course. And it would be fun and engaging as hell!
