We finally made comms useful yesterday, i must say that multiplayer gives a whole new dimension to Elite. Im an original Elite player and as the Dangerous was meeting my expectations for "upgraded" original game, the multiplayer is what ive been missing all these years.
So, a short story:
I watch BEST2USMC stream on Twitch, bunch of good chaps there and Best has started a private group, some of us joined. We share trading info and generaly help each othere.
Once two of us found Best in one of the high security systems (to see his shiny Imperial Clipper) and i "accidentally" fired at Best near a station, which made "Viperes Federales" quite mad. So 2 of us (in Cobras) started to fight them, we killed them all while Best was streaming it, it was awesome! That was a nice team building event,
Yesterday i found a nice 2.4k trade route and shared this info in the group, 2lame4name came to help me flatten the prices
. We created a proper convoy, it was fun (well, once he forgot to ask for the docking permission and started to fly backwards right in the mailbox, so i had to ram him, but no real damage done ).
I have a Type 6, he had a Hauler then (hopefuly Cobra by now), so i offered to jettison some cargo, so he could get the Cobra faster. We were hanging in space and he was trying to catch the jettisoned cargo with his scoop. I was hoping it could be automatic, you know i shot the cargo right in his scoop, but it didnt work that way, he had to chase every container. Anyhow, we were texting about it, and as i couldnt see what was going on i was asking if it could be automated, he answered: "my scoop is small and your cargo hatch so big!"... For me the only natural thing to say was: "Thats what she said"... Im still laughing .
As soon as i filled his cargo hold, i turned to the station and asked for a docking permission to buy more cargo in the place of jettisoned one, when a wild undocking ASP rammed me to death. I lost 700k worth cargo and after buying most of it back i had 2000 cr left (and no guns on the Type 6)... We set out, me saying "if i get killed now, im not playing till release!"... We arrived to the target system, the station was 1k ls away, so we start supercruising. After a while i can hear the interdiction starting, but im flying ok, i look at the 2lame ship and i can see him going all the directions: he was interdicted... He managed to avoid it, but we got separated. When i was 10ls from the station, i see the wanted Anaconda closing in and the interdiction started! Man, i was never so motivated to win the minigame! Lucky for me i won and safely docked...
So, my Elite: Dangerous experience is getting better and better. Keep up the good work, Frontier!
