Last night in leesti I was hot footing around looking for some juicy targets, letting my bounty build up. I had a couple of close calls evading wings of vulture/fdl and still nicking what I wanted.
I see a T7 in the distance and set my sights.

well it seems in my drunken state I never saw the fdl drop in. I never saw him on the radar lining up behind me. I did see the first flash of laser fire.
Pips to engines I abandon my victim and make a dash for the stars.
Chaff released my shields are dropping. Boost and I drop an SCB, more boost, more chaff.
Jesus I'm mass locked by a factor of 22!
Shields offline i go i go for broke, chaff, silent running and a last boost or two. FSD charging to slowley. Canopy gone. Temp well over 200. Eject eject.
The the insurance screen. 1.5m cr buy back. Half million bounty lost in empire and my personal 30+k bounty taken. I sit for a moment speechless, how stupid to take my eye off the ball, all that loss.
Then I look at the missus and crack up. What an amazing game this is.
For a few drunk minuits it was all adrenalin trying to escape a situation it was far to late to escape from.
To the CMDR in the fdl well played sir. To the T7 pilot I still want me tea and will be back!
note: I've decided not to pay off any more bounties. It's a better game for it and for a brief moment 3 CMDR's became embroiled in a game to the death.
