I was just interdicted and I killed the interdictor but he managed to take out my thrusters while I was still at 90% hull. I have no repair kit. I'm assuming I need to destroy myself to continue.

if you go into the right panel someplace i think you can reset the thrusters
someone says that forces them to cannibilise parts from other systems to make them barely function. i dont think its on the modules panel i think the one with the options to turn on and off the lights and so on. right most tab on right ui panel .

if thats the modules panel its the wrong one, its the one after inventory has lots of options to turn on/off external lights or drop beacon i think. i am going by something i read in another thread. they said reset and that it sort of rebuld them into a limp home mode so you can get to a station.

You can reboot repair in combat as well.
Might be due to my lousy combat rank, BUT I managed to reboot repair 3 times with a missile equipped Asp sitting behind me.
I was dead in the water. No FSD no thrusters.
He would leave me in peace while I was cold and dark rebooting, but open fire as soon as I came up.
So I came up and immediately hit Silent Running.
Took a whack of heat damage but high waked out of there, he never opened fire while I was cold and dark.
