A ED 1.3 question that perhaps was not answered ?

I assume you're asking "how do combat players go about disrupting the actions of trading players who are all in trying to achieve the same goal?" Obviously combat pilots of BOTH sides in open will be equally able to disrupt the efforts trading pilots of BOTH sides who are also in open, but NEITHER will be able to combat the efforts of trading pilots in solo. Yes there will be pilots you can't shoot down, but that will be the same for BOTH sides. How do you combat trading pilots working for the other side in solo? Promote tranding pilots to also work for your team in solo. Traders in solo from BOTH sides will be equally targeted by NPC's, and combat pilots in open on BOTH sides will have equal numbers of opposing team members to shoot down. The result is not determined by "who gets to 50 first", it's determined by "which side has the most actions of ANY sort in ANY play mode by the time the action ends".

Why bother doing it?

Yah. It's decided by the question "Which side has the greater number of players performing the greater number of actions toward a given goal?" (...)

For example: If side A has 12 actions of type 1 and 15 actions of type 2 they have a total score of 27, if the side B has 14 actions of type 1 and 9 actions of type 2 they have a total score of 23. (...) Side A's score is 27 and side B's in 23, so side A wins this goal.
My main concern regarding PP is this mechanic. If you have the option of participating in a PP mission, where you can see on the progress bar that the opposing side has completed three times the number of PP tasks compared to your side, because they have three times the number of supporters, why would you participate in the goal, knowing that the opposing side are basically guaranteed to win due to clearly outnumbering you?

Now, if the reward of completing the PP mission scaled with the balance of the sides, one would be much more motivated to join an outnumbered side. For instance, if 100 tasks are completed for side A, versus 50 for side B, within the time frame, it could result in a 50% reward for side A (such as lower upkeep cost). Similarly, 100 side A tasks versus 33 side B tasks would result in a 67% reward for side A. In this way every completed task would matter for both sides, even when outnumbered.

This is daft. Lets create 'The invisible faction'. We can all play in private and just go out and take over the universe. Nobody will ever see us and we will be all over the News. Just this phanthom faction bigger than everyone else but are we a myth? No one will ever know...

Really, really bad idea.
