A few pics from the edge.

My DBX had a 50LY jump and I couldn't jump any further, even with jumponium. It also took 15 J3 jumps to cross the gap, each way.

12,590 LY south east of Crab Pulsar (9,500 LY further out than Crab Pulsar), 18,200 LY from Sol, 42,267 LY from Sag A* and 81,199 LY from Beagle Point.

By the way, VOAB VX-L D7-0 is a neutron star. The only one out there. And it's got my name on it

Yeah, the view is good from out here, Bongo: I'm a few KLY to the east of you by the look of it, heading along the arm until I run out of stars...

Nice, thanks for sharing! +1

I like the solitude those shots convey.

(and personally, I wouldn't be bothered if there are actually any reachable stars further out)

Whether you're at the very edgiest of edges or not, that's a mighty impressive journey you've made.

+1 old chap and keep on going :D

I need to apologise to CMDR BongoBaggins for the way I made the comment about the neutron star. Sometimes I forget it's easy to misunderstand the mood of what you are saying when you write them down. Now that I read it again it seems I am dissing him and it is not my intention.

The kind of trip you did is now one of my favourites. Even after almost 3 months now I still don't get enough of running on fumes, trying to minimize the jumponium usage, the fear you do anything wrong that can get you stranded... I recommend everyone to try it at least once: try to navigate in a zone where the systems are far appart just around the same jump range of your ship.

@Allitnil: I said "very edge" because there is no other systems around there that you can travel to if you want move away from the center of the galaxy. Unless you found something around there that I didn't. BTW, it is frustrating traveling around a zone that is almost unexplored and keep finding your tag in 99% of the systems (and this one is NOT one of them, CMDR Wylder has that honor). I've been following your tag for 30 kylies or more and god forbid I find a ELW that you missed

I wasn't offended at all! I had the suspicion I may have been wrong, I dimly remember it happening once in the past :p

Yeah, I know and neutrons on the very edge are incredibly rare. I've been around some 25% of the very edge and only came across one example. But in terms of "southernmost" neutron star Aidoy QM-W d1-0 is at -14,981 LY whilst Leech VS-U d2-2 is -16,109. Leech and it's adjacent sectors are generally the place to start when it comes to anything "most southerly".

I'm afraid you'll still be cursing my tags until you get past the Perseus arm and up to about +30k, after that you'll be free of me for good!

@ BongoBaggins: Congrats! If you're still hanging around the area, you might want to do an obligatory "Ship In Front Of Everything Else" screenshot too.
Also, turns out there's a Leech sector then? Oh boy. Now I'll have to visit yet another area.

Your tag course followed me to the southermost star in Elite [haha]
