Nice backstory, based on that, you will love PC!, I personally started before you with a game called Theme Park from Bullfrog :) Wow the good ole days.

Ok onto the questions.

#1 - RCT3 was a joint effort between Atari and Frontier, they have now gone their separate ways, so we now are getting two coaster games. Yes PC is like RCT3 - been a while since I played #1 & #2 but if you're happy with RCT3 then you'll love this.

#2 - Yes this will be in the game - though not yet in the alpha version we're on (I think stage 3 of alpha) Full simulation will be in the game on release!

#3 - No one knows - as mentioned above, the management side isn't in the alpha yet (building coasters isn't "officially" in alpha yet) I'm sure you will be able to take out loans or start marketing campaigns as you could in RCT3.

#4 - Alpha at the moment is basically sandbox as it is - we have 13 (excellent) flat rides, 4 "facilities" (drink, burger, hats and toilets) and part of the first two themes (generic & pirate) - I believe they are going to be 6 themes on release.

#5 - Yes I believe this will be in, though again not confirmed exactly in what way by frontier. we'll probably have to wait 6 months to find out more.

#6 - Hmm, hope so, if not on release, may be it's on their list todo ASAP after release as people will cry out for this feature!

#7 - Yes, I believe you can - I've read about people having it on their desktop and their laptop. However, I doubt 2 people can play at the same time, you will need to purchase 2+ copies.

#8 - You're welcome :) - Hope you enjoy the game - I'm personally looking forward to the management side of things - I enjoy building with limited money.

The answer to a lot of your question are being implemented into the game and should be there when the game is released. I to have spent a vast majority of my time into RCT3 and I can honestly say that what Frontier have planned for this game will very much be a big improvement from RCT3 and more content.

As of the alpha right now the Sandbox mode is grate and very stable for an Alpha.

You can download the alpha on more than one computer and Frontier have there own launcher that the Alpha runs off.
