A few suggestions

Hello, I now have about 250 hours invested in this game and have some suggestions for changes i think would greatly benefit it, some of which have probably been made already.

Add internal compartment partitions
From the cargo racks and fuel tanks we can see that the size of each class compartment is 2^class. In other words a class 3 is twice the size of a class 2 which is it's self twice the size of a class 1. It would there for be nice to be able to put int a partition and get 2 compartments of the next class level down. For example if I have a class 3 compartment, I could put in a partition to turn it into 2 class 2 compartments, which I can then further partition it make 4 class 1 compartments. Then I will no longer have to give the docking computer and scanners their own class 3 compartments each which always feels like a severe waste of space.

Change vehicle hanger sizes to be more logical
If a class 2 vehicle hanger can hold 1 buggy, then a class 3 hanger should be able to hold 2 while a class 4 should be able to hold 4. So the current sized ones which are 2, 4, and 6 don't really make a lot of sense and I can't help but wonder what happened to all the extra space that should be left over.

Add a player posted galnet bulletin board
It would be nice if there was a chat room or bulletin board system that players could access from their ship no matter where they were and communicate with one another. This would make it easier to find wing men to play with as well as give players a way to call for help if they have gotten them selves in a bind. For example if a player has run out of fuel they could make a post with their concordance, there by giving them a chance that another helpful player near by might be able to give them enough fuel to make it to a dock instead of just having to push the self destruct button. This would also go a long way towards making the game feel less big and empty which seems to be a big complaint that a lot of people have.

Make chaff work ageist npc scans
Currently the npcs in the game cheat, like a lot, to the point where aspects of the game aren't fun or even possible. Now I realize to fix the issue would probably involve a lot of work picking at their algorithms and such, so as a quick fix I recommend allowing chaff to work ageist npc scans. This wouldn't exactly solve the issue, but it would at least give the player a chance and make certain missions possible.

Rotate station holo while in super cruse
It can be kind of annoying to come out of super cruse and find ones self on the exact opposite side of the station from the mail slot and the technique of coming at it from the planet its in orbit around only sort of works. So it would be nice if the holo of the station you see while in super cruse would rotate to show you exactly how to come at it to arrive on the mail slot side and save yourself from all the boosting around.

Change the compass into a nav ball to make it easier to navigate
As it is players don't really have enough instruments to fly around competently, in fact I often feel like I'm flying blind. It's really annoying to boost for a few minutes trying to break mass lock while leaving an asteroid ring only to realize I have been accidentally flying parallel to it or when you accidentally get too close to a star and drop out of super cruse and then have to guess what direction will actually take you away from the star. The limited viability from many of the ships cockpits means you often don't have the visual cues you need to survive. So I recommend replacing the compass with a kerbal space program style nav ball to give players this crucial information.

Add ship, part, and cargo storage and transportation
This suggestion has probably been made a few hundred times already, but I'll add it to my list anyway. Players need a way to pertinently store ships, parts, and cargo in stations and pay an npc to move them around.

Add a player density map
A player density map that is similar to the power play map, only shows how many players are in a given part of the galaxy. That way players can easily see where others are and go there.

Add multi-rack hanger
When I first started playing I thought the whole point of entering the hanger from the dock was to free up the dock to allow others to land there, but I have since discovered that it doesn't matter if your ship is in the hanger or on the pad, it still blocks the dock from being used. This is a rather annoying issue that I'd like to see address, possibly by making the hanger multi-racked.

Add a bulletin board refresh indicator
It can be rather annoying sitting there waiting for the bulletin board job list to refresh as that you also have to keep checking and rechecking, so it would be nice if there was some sort of indicator as to when it refreshed to remove the guess work.

Make action groups bound to buttons and not functions
To allow more functions to be mapped to the xbox controller then it has buttons, the key bind file uses action groups to change what buttons do. While I do like the idea of action groups, I wish they could be bound to individual buttons instead of an entire function so that I don't have to press buttons on my xbox controller when I want to fly with my mouse and keyboard. This issue has caused my death at least once.

Make the chat easier to use
The chat system is woefully lacking in features that I have come to expect from an mmo and that makes it difficult to adequately communicate with others.

Sort contracts by remaining time
When I accept a bunch of contracts its kind of annoying to have to go though the list and try to figure out which one needs to be done the soonest. It would be a grate help if the list automatically sorted by how much time was remaining, with the more urgent at the top.

Add more detailed information on parts
When buying parts, the amount of information we're given is actually quite cryptic and often not enough for any sort of informed decision. For example I have come across the situation where there will be two parts that have an A rating in something, but this one has a better A rating then that one, what dose that even mean? Often it feels like it's a coin toss as to whether or not the new part is actually better for what I want to do.
