A FEW SUGGESTIONS

Hi, I am starting to really enjoy elite dangerous, the updates have made a great difference, especially the passenger lounge. i just wanted to share a few ideas that are on my mind every time I play..

1 FSD, when travelling in hyperspace the speed up looks fine but then there seem to be a lot of gas clouds even when travelling to the nearest star, this looks unrealistic as the clouds cannot be seen in normal space. In my opinion a reduced number of the gas clouds perhaps larger would look more realistic. maybe with streaking stars although in reality you're not really passing stars as you travel to the next nearest one. A shorter FSD journey might also be more realistic, depending on the distance. Apart from that i think its an improvement on the original FSD sequence.

2 The space stations look great from the outside but the landing pads and detail have always looked very 20th Century to me, lots of pistons and almost steampunk in a way, I would like a more futuristic and sleeker looking station personally, maybe its a question of taste

3 It would be great when jumping out of supercruise to automatically line up with the target, in the same way that happens when going to FSD. This would be more realistic in my view. Also I've always been surprised at how the station or target suddenly appears and was wondering if a more gradual increase in size on approach would be more realistic?

Just a few thoughts, i think the game is getting better and better and I l am looking forward to seeing how it develops in the future.

thanks,

Nick

1. Yes - but try travelling to the edge of the bubble and it looks as you'd like (17 Draconis)
2. They did a great job which matches the development of Ships designs
3. No - you are piloting. The only thing to help you here is Docking Computer

About point 3, when jumping out of Supercross you end up directly in front of the space station or object no matter how off target you are when you jump out. I'm saying that it would be good if it automatically lined up with the object as you came out if Supercruise.

3. We know but you got a good deal already by exiting and the Station appearing infront of you. Why make it easy peasy to lign you up with the slot? You are able at present to exit at any angle. Problem is you have totally no idea what this angle will be other your knowedge over time that the Station points towards the pole of the planet which is not that easy to work out.

Now then, for Smugglers it is rather important that they do not end up on the rear to then try get passed security as it also wastes time by having to boost away and circumnavigate. Sooooooooooooooo....

In 2.3 you can now see the Station Orientation while in Supercruise. Is this ok for you? Or you still want the game to align you up to the slot on a plate?

don't need to get all aggressive on him dude. Besides I think you're not getting what he's saying.

What he's trying to say is that when going INTO supercruise, you must align but you go OUT of supercruise INTO a location, you don't really need to be aligned all that much and he finsd that it makes not much sense and I agree with that to be honest. He just suggested that the game aligns with target. It could be either that I think or ask to align with destination.

He's just stating his own opinion, no need to get all upset about it because he is. He's doing it in a totally civilised way and even said he likes where the game is going.

Also I've always been surprised at how the station or target suddenly appears and was wondering if a more gradual increase in size on approach would be more realistic?

I think that it seems unrealistic but actually the thing is, in supercruises you're at several hundred KM away so it would be an invisible speck in the sea of stars. But it would be nice if there was a transition where object being rendered appear getting bigger in your screen as you exit supercruise and enter the area.
