A fix for frustrating issue

After returning from a 8 stop 10 hour sight see mission, i could not "complete" the contract.

Reboot, re-docked, re-logged, system jump and return.. nothing was showing me the "complete mission" bar in the passenger lounge. I struggled for an hour trying everything i could to get the station to register i was "home with my passenger". Reached out to the discord community, they were baffled also.

Finally, knowing i was down to my last 15 min, checked my time again and i finally noticed the "not enough cargo space for reward" was lit up... Frantically i equipped a cargo rack.... and ... wow... i can now click "complete mission".

Thats silly... I Move to Suggest You Implement a "Abandon Physical Reward" option when opening up the station passenger lounge or mission board. It would have saved me 1 hour of RL panic.... almost lost the 4 mil job over a reward of 4 cooling hoses??? I would have rage quit again. lmao. These little non intuitive, non synced conundrums still frustrate me in ED, can we get you all to look at making mission qualifiers more succinct?

I agree, that's a huge pain. Something brief should be added to explain WHY the mission can't be completed. A lot of passenger missions include a physical reward and I always include at least an 8 or 16 ton cargo rack, if I have any slots left over after outfitting.

Yeah, I ran into a similar issue yesterday, which was quite puzzling. I got a mission offer through the comm panel, but it wouldn't let me accept the mission. I finally figured out that I needed to sell some cargo, but the whole experience was annoying. FD needs to make it more clear as to what the problem is, or even ditch cargo rewards entirely.

indeed... i was stripped down for max jump range. i'll keep a small one equipped when running passengers from now on.

Funny you should say that

I have been caught this way a few times, but the strange thing seems to be if I complete
a different mission with material rewards, say source and return, I get given the items in the
mission complete screen and am paid, but if I have full holds they "evaporate somewhere".

In reality there is some sort of temporary storage area at a Depot that I can temporarily
store stuff until I leave the station. If I don't want it, it should THEN disappear when I Launch.

How about a kind of Bond Store for my stuff when I am on station that asks me what I want to dump
before I leave. In Horizons if I do a Surface Mission and pick up too many canisters it will ask me what
I want to dump so why not on an Orbital Station?

Cheers

That's a killer ideal, the station could even charge for dumping your T(s) like a RL dump does. +Rep :)

Just implement a Cmd Storage locker for anything you wish to move off your ship, for use later.
This would solve this problem as well as for Data, Materials, ect.

No need to Dump and lose value for work done, save it for when you need it.
