Newcomer / Intro A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum....

I took a mission to clear out the Scavengers at XXX settlement.
As I approached the settlement, I got the usual message, to eliminate 10 scavengers.
Just as I was approaching the final few yards TWO dropships arrived, those pesky commandos rappelling down.
But that wasn't the worst of it - the AI added their numbers to the victory target, so 10 suddenly became 19.
That's right - the AI moved the goalposts!
Anyhow, I set about defeating this lot, whittling them away one by one. Just as I was getting close to the final few, TWO more dropships arrived and, you guessed it, the victory target suddenly became 34.
That's right, the AI moved the goalposts AGAIN!
I buckled down to it, finally got the lot of them and powered up the settlement with a Power Regulator I'd brought along (I really wanted the DATA - who doesn't; but this time I got Zilch :-( )

It was one of those settlements where the PWR is at the end of the AGRI, but I was determined not to be out of pocket so I went back in and shut it down, fully expecting the AI to be waiting for me when I came out. But no, he'd had enough....
Yep, I needed a cuppa tea after that one!

Wow. I’ve never had that happen. I’ve had extra scavengers drop in, but not the moving goalposts. Gotta be a bug…

This new since the last update. I think it's intentional. Now whether the nearly endless stream of them as long as there's still one left over is intentional....

'Moving the goalposts'
I was listening to Pat Nevin on BBC World Radio.
He was describing a match he played on a pitch that sloped from one side to the other, but found the crossbars to be mysteriously level.
He measured them, and found one post to be longer than the other at each goal! :)
