A Good RARE's Run For An Asp Explorer - Dedicated to Commanders That Are Struggling to Make Money

I used to run Rares in an A-rated Asp Explorer (although you can start to play this in an Adder or Cobra). As I recall, I used a size 3, class A shield with 4 shield boosters. This gave me extra cargo space but a 3A shield is weak for an Asp Explorer so when interdicted, submit, then run. Don't stop to fight.

The Asp Explorer is a good ship for this run because you're going to cover some serious distance.

I could fill my ship going both directions on this bi-directional route, and earn about 3,000,000 credits every 2 hours, doing it. I gleaned this route from other posted sources and from some experimentation, then adapted it to suit my purposes.

If you're new to Rares, know that the distance a rare commodity is traded from its source determines its value. As best I recall, at 130 LY from its source, a rare commodity's value starts to climb quickly. At 160+LY from its source, the commodity gets about 85-90% of the max value it can attain. 180 LY is near max and 200 LY is max. Going farther than that from its source will not increase the commodity's value.

Also, some commodities are illegal in some solar systems. Be careful not to get caught with an illegal commodity.

If you want to trade Rares, it's a good route.

Xenomorphs Confirmed?

I was watching a younger player streaming today--the Leathery Eggs are definitely out, at least at Witchhaul and 39 Tauri...yielding no profits to the early Fed end of the Loop. Methinks F Dev have directly tampered with 'em...amounts of Eggs available are higher than ever though!

Running the Standard Rares Loop is probably the best way for Cobra pilots to rack up trade creds quickly. That's how I made my first millions. Selling Rares to stations will also up your Rep greatly with the Controlling Minor Faction.
