After seeing lots of reports about aliens (well unknown vessels really) on galnet, I decided as a concerned citizen (my home base is actually pretty close to all these reports) that I better head down to see what i could actually find out.
I jumped into my trusty Cobra MkIII, Euryale, and sped off.
I did take a slower trip, scanning a lot of systems on the way there, and the way back.
Firstly i decided to head straight for MAIA, and docked at Obsidian Orbital. What a dull place indeed. No missions, no passengers, and no stock to move about. I landed, I stood about, I left.
I dropped down onto a nearby planetary station, and picked up about 7 small delivery missions all to the same place nearby. I went, scanned more stuff and dropped off my bits. Another very quiet station, with no excitement.
Well that was enough of that, lets see if we can find a crashed alien ship. I open up Galnet on my ships computer, and find a system i need to head to. Apparently this was the first discovered wreck.
I jump to the system, and scan all the stars and planets in it. hmm now what do I do. I find a planetary station I can land at, so go there and start to read the Galnet more deeply.
Ok it says there is a wreck here. but not where. Hmm, I decide to fire up my latest acquisition, a link on my ships computer that taps into a galactic database called T'Internet (well that buggers the immersion [down])
Out of sheer luck, apparently the wreck is just a few clicks from where I actually am.
And now the pictures start...
I head out to the wreck, but as I am gazing at the VERY BIG ship:

I get to close to it and start to draw fire from some Imperial nancy boys in their big boats. A few boosts and a quick low wake, and I then drop back down having avoided them for the cost of two ring of shields.
I then come upon the wreck.
I first almost land on top of it, but it does allow for a true sense of the scale of this thing. My Cobra here is about 5 meters off of it.

I then get out my buggy and have a drive round. Its big. It sort of looks like a ramp. There is no one else here....oops how did this happen...and how the heck did I get this high:

A little more restraint was applied, and i just had a quick drive about, making some very close observations:

It was at this point I found there was not a lot else I could do here.
I flew off down a canyon at a bit of a speed, then went off and scanned some more systems in the vacinity, at about a 100ly range or so.
I found a planet with a massive mountain on it. i landed on top and sat and watched the gas giant rise:

I then decided to take the long road home. On the way I picked up 2 large data transmitters, and 4 small, and a batch of 5 used escape pods, which was nice. I sped rapidly in to my home port avoiding any cargo scans, and sold it all off for a reasonable profit, and a few more percent on my Pathfinder rating.
Maybe next time, I will get the big drop and a visit from a glowing ship...
