A great year ahead for space sims !

This is a great interview and video of the scope of No Mans Sky. I post this not for comparison to ED, they share common elements but executed in different ways, but just as a reminder that this genre seems to be becoming more mature and expansive beyond just flying and shooting. I really love the way studios are creating true open-ended play and forcing players to use their imagination rather than create an on-the-rails experience with the perception of freedom of choice.

Elite Dangerous, No Mans Sky, Limit Theory, Star Citizen....this is a great time for us space cadets.

I think No Mans Sky will initially be on PS4 but then PC...

It's interesting because ED and NMS will converge on each other in a lot of ways but from different origins...I prefer the sim feel of ED though I think, although I will have to give NMS a go as purely for exploration and the adventurer factor it looks immense! I just hope ED will introduce all this sort of content eventually, not just plantery / space station landings etc but whole eco systems and the ability to explore or harverst those for profit etc

No Mans Sky does look ace, I do wanna play it, the question is when. The problem it currently has is ED, putting time in two of these Time sinks is pretty much out of question since there are some other time-heavy games on the way in 2015 (Bloodborne, Wticher 3, Xenoblade).
