A grouping system for you and friends.

I know there is a friends feature in the game but was wondering if any plans for a grouping feature is in the works.
So I can always see where my friends or group even is not just when they are in the same system. I know I can press escape and see individual friends locations but maybe like green for allied and it will give a range or basic system info on their location.
