a guide: Guardian Pattern Obelisk Data NOTE: DATA ONLY

Only for Pattern Obelisk Data alpha, beta, delta, epsilon, and gamma

Note: Guardian Ancient Ruins are not the same as Guardian Structures.

system: SYNUEFE XR-H D11-102 body 1B
368.4Ly from Sol

https://ruins.canonn.technology/#GR1

1. upon approach to body 1B you will see two ANCIENT RUINS sites on your NAV Panel (around 700-900 ls from the system's sun?)

First listed on panel: ANCIENT RUINS: not the one on the above map
Second listed on panel: ANCIENT RUINS: this one is the target, where you want to go.

2. Site has two round fort type castles. Go to the bigger circular one with the letter "A" on it on the map. There is a longish vertical appendage at around 6 o'clock. Park ship around the base of the longish appendage.

3. Use SRV to climb up and gain access to the top of the longish appendage. Drive to the large circular area and take a left. At around 7 o'clock is an Active Obelisk; it is circle 08 on the map. It glows blue. Park right in front of it and have your relog fest.

4. There are other Active Obelisks at that site as well, but I did not try them:
a. Area Q circle 4
b. Area C circle 9 and circle 15
c. Area D circle 6
d. Area G circle 16 and circle 18
e. Area J circle 3
f. Area T circle 16 and circle 18

PROS:
1. When I was there yesterday July 9, 2018 I was able to get a fairly even spread of all types of data. Note 8/24/18: Commander EnvidiaPro posted that he was not receiving delta patterns. I may have been really lucky to get an even assortment.... So good ole RNG is at force here, too. :(
2. Makes a nice rest stop. It's midway between SOL and the Guardian Structures required for guardian blue prints, conduits, power cells, et al.
3. If you log right in front of the Active Obelisk at this site you will respawn in exactly the same place. You can situate yourself so that you don't need to even go into turret mode to obtain the data.
4. In Solo it's absolutely safe and no Sentinels to eat you.
5. Fairly close to the system's sun.

I probably will have missed something so the above will not be as efficient as possible.

Thanks to Canonn and the fabulous adorable Samurai Bunny Rabbit, Factabulous for the map!

I'm a little confused by this. I landed at the ancient ruins that were second on the list and drove up until I saw the circles, but I see no ramps or anything like that. There is a big field of Obilisks that I'm farming. Just a little confused on this. My map does look like the one you posted, but I have no idea where these ramps are. This is what you are talking about, right?

Yes. Thank you for pointing that out. The longest appendage was accessible by the sloping topography which inclined upwards towards it. That is what I meant by "ramp." Since this was my first stab at writing a "guide," I am very interested in knowing how to make my descriptions clearer. I am going to edit the post so that it won't be as confusing. Thanks again for your feedback.

You must be fond of the color green.

:)

I actually did find it after reading it a bit more thoroughly. I just thought there was an actual ramp I had to climb up and then take a left on the ramp and I was totally lost.

Thank you so much for writing this guide though it helps A LOT!!

I play in VR so green looks the sharpest. Do you know where I can find the delta patterns? Those don't seem to be popping up at all for me!

I mean, thanks for the guide, but isn't one obelisk the same as any other?

Pretty much, go to a ruin site and find a cluster of them, then religious right?

Personally dislike the relogging thing, try to avoid it, but I get it with the data, there's some tech that needs a lot of it, and I once travelled to six different ruins sites and didn't get a single one of the stuff I wanted, terrible luck.

Would be quite cool if you could use the items to scan obelisks, in order to get the data you want to get.

Hmmmmm.... the reason I wrote the guide was because I got fed up with scanning the obelisks in the Guardian Structures. As you probably already know, obelisks in the Guardian Ruins are less onerous to farm because if you log right in front of the Active Obelisk at a Ruins Site you will respawn in exactly the same place. You can situate yourself so that you don't need to even go into turret mode to obtain the data.

I also wrote it because when I was farming this particular site, I actually got an even spread of the all types of data and was very happy about that. Guess it was just good luck with RNG. Sigh...... I am sorry you did not experience the same.

Wut??! It's RNG.... again. When I was there I got an even spread of all types of data. I guess I was just lucky, for once. That's why I posted the guide because at that time, peeps were having trouble with finding the epsilon data. I have edited the original post to say RNG is in force here, too.

Thanks OP :) What's the probability of scanning for Epsilon data like at this ruin site?

I really don't know. When I was there, I was very lucky and had an even spread of all the kinds of data. Another commander who recently was at the site reported that they didn't get any of the delta patterns, which maybe means he received some of the Epsilon? I just don't know; I am afraid it's simply RNG.

Good luck to you regardless and Fly Lucky!

It's RNG so probability is the same, annoying to note though that , starting with zero quantity of any patterns have now filled Alpha, beta, delta and gamma but have only received 54 Epsilon so not only RNG but appears to be loaded against finding the most important pattern or is that just too sneaky ?

I was scanning them for delta data for a shield booster. I've just checked my data store and I picked up enough epsilon to complete an unlock of a SLF, so it turns up quite frequently enough at random, anyway.
