A Hello & a Question

Hello all.

I just started playing Elite: Dangerous on the Xbox One. I played the Elite Plus back in the day. This was when you first started out you had to match your flight with the rotation of the station in order to land...and you didn't have enough credits to purchase a docking computer when you first started playing, either! hehe

Anyway, so now I'm finally back in Elite with its new generation and MMO.

In playing this new version, I do have a question - I picked up a contract/mission to "Eliminate Pirates From Corporate Trade Route" in the Eravate system. The problem is there are six stations/planets, along with asteroids that this 1 pirate could be at. I've been to each one and I can't seem to find him.

Is this a bug or am I supposed to do something special with this type of mission?

So, is it a particular target with a name, or an amount of pirates?

If it's the former, drop the mission. You need a very good ship, and lots of skills in order to take them on.

If it's the latter, go to Nav beacons and kill wanted NPCs, that have the "mission target" indicator under their wanted status.

It's just 1 unnamed pirate.

So he'll be near the Nav Beacon? Alright then...that'll make it easier. Thank you very much!

Good advice from CMDR Hagglebeard. Wait a while to get a better ship. But if you persist there will be targets flying around in sc that you could interdict but you'd need an intidiction module.

Again, comes down to having a better ship and upgrading it. An eagle should be a good start.

Oh right then. Go knock yourself out :)

Good Luck CMDR Cronniss! if you ever want to wing up hit me up in game. IGN: Bootband. I fly a fully A grade Anaconda, and would love to help new CMDRs.

If its just unnamed pirates you need for the kill, i often find them as conveniently labelled "mission target" at strong or weak signal spots

just find a few along route to nav beacon or a station, drop in, and check. If normal npc, SC out, if wanted - then kill and possibly get mission credit too. But mostly on those kill unnamed pirates missions, i find them all at these locs as already labelled "mission target"
