I'm trying to resolve the tarach spice bug. 8 units of this rare goodie is stucked on my cargo hold and seems that the only solution to avoid this bug is to self destruct the ship.

Now, in your opinion...

Is it a good idea to sell every module/weapon/outfit element (except essential to move out of station, of course) to minimize my loss balance for rebuy cost?

No. The cost of buying new, outweighs the insurance cost.

Can you afford the insurance fully kitted? If so then keep the kit as you might have to search around for it again. If not you are given the option of what not to get back, but I don't know if this is better than selling it. You could sell stuff that you know is easy to buy back.
