So being new to the game and checking out using the FSD and how to get about I figured I would start some trading in order to start making some money and work my way up to a few upgrades. I'd made a profitable first trip but on the second trip, although I was given permission to dock (at Poriti), the scanner wasn't changing to the land assist mode. Undercarriage was down and I ended up moving all around the pad trying to get it to land.
Much to my annoyance I was then fined 400Cr for blocking the pad. I checked the number... yes it was the right one. I moved away, cancelled the docking request and tried again. To further my annoyance, I then repeatedly got "Docking request denied". I tried for about 15 mins but then decided to go somewhere else.
Can anybody tell me what I did wrong?
On my jump I was seemingly pulled out of FSD and found myself under attack by a lone assassin who wiped my shields out in just a few blasts. Then I found my ship to be literally blown apart around me and I was left with no choice but to start again - although this time in debt and owing a loan payment.
Whoever it was than took me out I would like to congratulate on his skill. However, I was hoping to at least get a footing on the steep learning curve before being handed my ass on a plate.
So please - all you people that have been playing this game for some time, go easy on the new "harmless" guys. Otherwise you'll turn people off the game very quickly.
Cheers.
Bonkin.
