A *layer* of non KGBFOAM stars?

Hi,

around the coordinates (something,-39,something) a layer of non-KGBFOAM stars can be found. Is this a stellar-forge glitch? Is this based on some real scientific thesis or findings? On which? Any hints.

btw: it is around -39 so read: plus minus several units and it seems to stretch forever in the other dimensions.

Cheers

Yes, you'll find a band of brown dwarfs throughout much of the galaxy at about that level. I think it's just an artefact of the stellar forge and they are centred on the galactic plane. We tend to think of zero as being the plane, but that's just where Sol is situated. Sag A* is at -21 and is a truer representation of where the plane is.

Many of the examples of people saying there are brown dwarf 'badlands' are just a result of encountering this band and simply moving 50 LY up or down will get you clear of them.

Can confirm what Allitnil says. At -30/-50 it's brown dwarves everywhere. It's more evident in the low density areas, but they come in good percentage also in high density area. Probability that route planner gives you a long row of dwarves at these altitudes are high, but between those dwarves there are many scoopables that does not require real detours, they are just in the middle.

Moving further down to -70 would solve the problem completly.
