A little bit of an idea, opinions welcome

Would you want a module that you could buy to transfer hydrogen fuel cargo to your fuel tank?

An idea came to my head earlier today, which was the ability to buy a module onto your ship that would transfer hydrogen fuel in your cargo into your fuel tank. Would you go with it? Why? Why not? What should be changed about it? Let's discuss and debate. Please vote in the poll what you think about it

EDIT: This could also be used as an emergency reservoir

It pretty much worked like that in ED's predecessors. I think the possibility to transfer fuel from cargo-tanks to the fueltanks is an interesting one. I remember bringing along hydrogen fuel in the beginning as I thought that was how it (still) worked.
.
The system as it is works (For me at least) but I'm definatly interested in seeing this discussed :)

Makes total sense, unless the century's fuel tanks uses some arbitrary method to fill them up, a bit like some of today's coffee makers. Common sense says to me your idea makes sense.

Though not very useful to some, this may come in handy for specific situations. The viper may use this system more than others, depending on if the 1T of cargo transfers to 1T of fuel back into the tank or more, it would be nice to have on an Asp for exploring.

Interesting idea but I don't see the point in ED. In the Frontier games you needed to carry extra fuel for long distance travel in some ships as not all ships could be fitted with Fuel Scoops (Imp. Courier, Imp. Trader, Turner's Quest etc) but in ED every ship can equip a fuel scoop and it's easy to scoop fuel (it wasn't in Frontier). Still it would be good for explorers. Will vote Good Idea.

To be honest I'm not sure why we would need to use hydrogen fuel to refuel. Logically it kind of makes sense but why bother using precious cargo space when you can just use one internal bay for a fuel scoop? I suppose if you specifically wanted the internal bay for something else, but the tradeoff is using up cargo space and in the main I'm not sure that's a great idea.

I'd say for emergencies, say you are a few thousand LY away from any station, you thought you could last the next few jumps and now you are stranded without fuel, rare but may happen. As long as it wouldn't impact much if the devs decided to implement it, why not?

That's just my opinion, however.

Yes, that opinion makes good sense

I guess it makes sense but I've rarely needed fuel that bad, and loading up cargo space would mean either less space, or more weight. I wouldn't bother with it. Of course hydrogen fuel never seems to be in too much demand at stations, I've never noticed shortages.

It seems like it's only there to create the illusion that there are lots of goods in the world, though most seem useless for traders and rarely used by stations. The whole economy seems fake, or at least borked. Nothing feels dynamic.
