A little consistency, please?

So I drop out of SC onto an unidentified signal source to find several eagles attacking a pirate Lakon.

I decide to join in.

Everything is going fine except for every now and again one of the other eagles plinks me as they are shooting at the Lakon. No big deal, no blood no foul.

However, one of the NPC eagles cuts in front of me and I dink him with one shot...suddenly I have a bounty, am wanted, and all the other eagles start coming after me.

C'mon ED, if you are going to make me wanted and killable for one accidental hit, apply the same rules to the guys that accidentally shoot me.

I can use those extra creds :)

They were likely the police.

Try joining in a police arrest and accidentally punching one of the police sometime. They don't like it. I think the in game police were pretty lenient up until you shot one of them! :)

Agreed, particularly as they get no bounty if they accidently hit you. Imagine an IRL police officer shooting lawful civilians in the street with no repercussions.

The situation is more like: Three policemen are chasing down a infamous smuggler. They've almost got him, when a crazy guy with an assault rifle runs out of an alley, screaming ´´Don't worry policemen, I've got this!´´

Let me clarify.

I misstated when I said I dropped out of SC into this situation, I had been exploring USCs when I was on the way back to Azeban. I was interdicted and dropped.

Immediately on drop the Lakon started firing at me and ignoring the police.

So, I fired back.

It's not like I wandered up randomly and popped into this fight.

I think the game realized that the npcs shot you by accident, but it can't know your intentions if you accidentally hit one of them.
Either we just have to be more careful or some kind of minimum damage has to be met before you being counted as an aggressor is is triggered.

I'd also like them to turn red when they threaten you instead of waiting for them to take the first shot!

I've been strafed a few times by accident because I got between two fighters and they don't turn red. Putting your guns away could be a form of apology?
