A missing factor in powerplay; outsiders view

First of all, I don't have beta access so this might be speculation.

Let me just say, from what I've read in forum and patchnotes, powerplay seems great. Awesome, actually. However, I seem to be missing one thing and that's 'results'. Perhaps I missed something somewhere, but so far it doesn't look like there's any particular reason to push a power other than liking them. Let's say a power grabs 50% of inhabited space... Then what? They have their cc income and upkeep, more struggles because of more neighbouring powers etc, but nothing actually seems to happen. Did I miss something, or does there not seem to be an ''endgame'' of any sorts for the powers? Shouldn't there be some ''grand goal'' to achieve or something similar? Even for cg's we have personal rewards and global rewards, but here it seems to be just personal and that makes it look kind of hollow in my opinion.

Just my thoughts on the subject, discuss I guess?
