A must have peripheral

I got one too. The Stinky's a substantial piece of kit. I've only ever used binary switch pedals but what I've found with those is that they tend to move around a bit and you end up dribbling with the pedal while your trying to play a game. The Stinky stays put.

I'm playing "Dishonored" using it at the moment. I've mapped the lean left and right keys to it. The only thing I'd say against it is that the top is flat and featureless. It's easy to activate the wrong switch sometimes. You learn to hit the correct part of the board with practice, but a with better designed top that wouldn't be necessary. I think it was designed by kool doods who wanted something that looked like a skateboard.

Not the only thing I'd say against it. That and the price.

I was considering using the pedals from my racing setup either to create more control axes or free up a hand entirely.

My rudders don't currently work with Elite - sets me spinning every time I plug them in, and I hope it gets fixed soon!

This Stinky thing looks interesting, but it'd be more floor space taken up and I think it'll end up sliding on carpet like my pedals do - even with velcro.

I also have a cheap (99 cent) USB footpedal that I used to use to enable voice chat - I'd like to somehow set this up for flight assist on/off but Elite simply doesn't see the driver for it, and it's unbindable without mapping a key. Slight annoyance but I can live with that.

However, I have a whole heap of Boss effect stomp-boxes from the old days. I was wondering if I can rig up a simple circuit to detect each press and send that to a simple USB multiplexor. Would save on room and let me do something with old guitar equipment I'll never, ever use again :)

The Stinky doesn't slide about on the carpet. It stays put. But on saying that I reckon you should go for the effects pedal. After every kill you could play a victory riff on an air guitar while yelling "Excellent!"
