Hi so I'll try to keep this short, so I know there have been issues in the past with Elite on the Quest 2 and I heard that the way to get the game to launch in vr on the Quest if if I buy the game from the frontier store. What I'm wondering is if there are any more hoops that I need to jump through to get the game to boot in vr mode?

There shouldn’t be any hoops to jump through beyond selecting “HMD + headphones” in the 3D options sub-menu of the game’s graphics options, then restarting the game (though if you are playing Odyssey the setting should take hold without quitting).
What version of the game do you currently have? Epic, Steam, Oculus, Frontier?
I’ve got a Quest 2 and the Frontier launcher version so I can give you those steps for VR if you want them
The VR settings are within the game - start the game on your monitor and go to Options/Graphics/ then expand the “3D” menu and select “HMD (HEADPHONES)” then exit the game.
Ensure your Quest 2 is Linked or AirLinked to your computer, then start the game from the launcher - it should launch in VR in your headset.
First thing you’ll probably want to do is recenter your view (f12)
Make sure that ED is your active window on the desktop otherwise your controls won’t work.
