WB announced a new movie based on the famous role-playing game Dungeons&Dragons.

I only hope it will be done more seriously than the previous (poor) adaptions.
I can't quite seem much point in a D&D movie really. The whole point of D&D is the unexpected elemtn created by the random dice throws. A scripted story is just a movie with D&D tagged on.
Be interested to hear a bit more as the project develops.
I recall some pretty good attempts at D&D on computers, back in the early days of 8 bit machiens, where text based adventure games were common.
As a world was unfolded, we would draw a map of our environment and take notes.
The computer acting as the DM.
It was necessarily limited by the memory available, but the idea was pretty good.
One particulary fiendish one was on the Jupiter Ace with a RAM Pack. It needed to access the tape backup and as many will recall, these were impossibly unreliable.
